Leap Frog Outreach exists to walk alongside every neighbor with dignity - and that commitment extends to our website. We believe digital spaces should be open to everyone, including people with disabilities, and we are working to make leapfrogoutreach.org as accessible as possible.
Our Standard
We design, build, and review this website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our target. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities - including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive needs.
What We Do
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements can be reached and used with a keyboard alone.
- Screen reader support: Headings, landmarks, image alt text, and form labels are written so assistive technology can read the site clearly.
- Color & contrast: Text and meaningful UI elements are designed to meet AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds.
- Resizable text: Content responds to browser zoom and system font-size changes without breaking the layout.
- Reduced motion: Decorative animations are kept minimal and avoid effects known to trigger motion sensitivity.
- Plain language: We aim to write clearly, especially where directions, services, or contact information are involved.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, parts of the site may not yet meet every guideline - particularly third-party content like embedded donation processors or video players. We are reviewing these components and improving them as we grow.
